STO on demand
What’s new?
- Setting up a waiting list. If no vehicle is available for the time you request, you can have your name added to a waiting list. If a spot frees up, you will be contacted and given the option of confirming or turning down the reservation.
- A new payment method is now available. In order to ensure greater flexibility and simplicity, you can now pay directly with Apple Pay in the app.
- New sanctions for late cancellations and absences at the pick-up point. A cancellation made less than 60 minutes before the scheduled time will be treated as a late cancellation.
- After 3 late cancellations or 2 absences within 30 days, you will be sent a notice.
- After 5 late cancellations or 3 absences within 30 days, your account will be suspended for 30 days.
Service
STO on demand is an on-demand public transit service available in the Buckingham, Masson-Angers and Aéroparc sectors. The service, provided by Bob Taxi and Groupe Transit, is complementary to the regular bus service, paratransit and active transportation modes.

- Servicing 544 existing or virtual bus stops (reference point: grocery store, lamp post, etc.)

Areas served
The on-demand service is now available in the Aéroparc sector.
You can book a ride between the Aéroparc sector and the Lorrain station or between the Aéroparc sector and the Buckingham and Masson-Angers sectors.
When booking through the STO on demand app, select your drop-off sector: Aéroparc/Lorrain ou BMA/Lorrain/Aéroparc..
Schedules
- For the Buckingham and Masson-Angers sectors
- Daily, from 6 a.m. to midnight
- Bookings up to 20 minutes ahead of time
- For the Lorrain/Aéroparc sector
- Weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Weekends from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Bookings up to 45 minutes ahead of time
Book a ride
Three ways to book:
With the STO on demand mobile app:
Online, through the booking site: stoalademande.sto.ca
By calling 819 525-8932*
Available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
* Credit card payment is not an option when booking by phone. You will have to pay the driver in cash. To pay by credit card, book your ride through the mobile app or online.
If no vehicle is available for the time you request, you can have your name added to a waiting list. If a spot frees up, you will be contacted and given the option of confirming or turning down the reservation
If you are on the waiting list, you can still confirm a later request, but if you are offered the earlier spot and you accept, you must cancel the other reservation.
Once the booking is completed, you will receive:
- an email confirmation;
- Three notifications :
- the day before;
- one hour before the vehicle’s arrival; and
- 10 minutes before the vehicle’s arrival.
Good to know:
- When you book through the STO on demand app, you receive notifications through the app on your mobile device.
- If you book online or by phone, you will receive text message notifications.
Cancellations
You may cancel a reservation up to 60 minutes before the scheduled time. A cancellation made less than 60 minutes before the scheduled time will be treated as a late cancellation. The following sanctions apply in case of failure to respect these conditions:
- After 3 late cancellations within 30 days, you will be sent a notice.
- After 5 late cancellations within 30 days, your account will be suspended for 30 days.
In case of absence
If you are absent from the pick-up point and have not cancelled your booking, the following sanctions will apply :
- After two absences within 30 days, you will receive a notification.
- After three absences within 30 days, your account will be suspended for 30 days.
Plan a trip through the Transit app
When you plan a trip through the Transit app in the Buckingham and Masson-Angers sectors, the STO on demand service will appear in your trip options. You can book right away because Transit will redirect you to the STO on demand app.
When you use Transit to book STO on demand to a park-and-ride, the app chooses the best time for your ride according to the next bus’ schedule.
Fares and payment options
Fares
The fare is the same as for the regular service.
Take advantage of fare reductions, free rides and promotions
Student, Senior or ÉCHO: send your 16-dogit Multi card number to stoalademande@sto.ca. Once we have updated your profile, the fare reduction will automatically be applied when you book your trip.
Payment options
Do you have a validated Multi card? The STO on demand service is included! Simply send your 16-digit Multi card number to stoalademande@sto.ca ahead of time.
So you use STO on demand from time to time? Pay for your trips:
- by credit or debit card* when you book online or through the STO on demand app
- with cash **
- with a bus ticket.
NOTE: Because the vehicles are not equipped with readers, the e-wallet and 1, 3 and 7-day passes cannot be used for STO on demand.
*Payment by credit or debit card
This option is only available on the STO on demand app and online, on the booking site.
- Pay each booking separately;
- Add credits to your virtual account, which will be debited to pay for your rides.
**Paying the driver
Choose this option if:
You wish to use cash (exact fare required) or a bus ticket to pay for your ride.
Because STO on demand vehicles are not equipped with readers, the cash fare is the same as the e-wallet.
If you have a valid STO pass. Be sure to send us your Multi card number ahead of time to stoalademande@sto.ca.
Other information and rules
STO on demand vehicles are accessible and can carry up to five (5) people, including one in a wheelchair. Given that this is a public transit service, you may be paired with other riders travelling in the same direction.
Car seats are not provided. As with taxis, they are not mandatory, but if you wish, you can bring them with you and install them as you wish.
Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 14 and over may ride on their own.
Guide dogs, service dogs and small pets are permitted on board. Small pets must be kept in a closed crate, in the rider’s lap. They must not make a mess or inconvenience the other riders.
Anything brought on board by a rider must at all times remain with them and under their control. Nothing may be stored in the vehicle’s trunk.
